Kathryn Enright

Born in the United States, Kathryn Enright currently splits her time between London, UK and Berlin, Germany, working as an independent dance artist, scholar, and teacher. Kathryn holds an MFA in Choreography from The Ohio State University, an MA in Dance Ethnography from Gallatin University/TISCH in New York City, and a BA in English from Bowdoin College in Maine. In 2011 she was invited overseas by William Forsythe to rehearse with his company in Frankfurt, Germany. Since then, she has worked with choreographers Chris Haring/Liquid Loft, Laurent Chetouane, film director Mara Mattuschka, and performed in an installation by William Forsythe. Prior to moving to Europe, she danced with Bebe Miller, Kathleen Hermsdorf, Lily Skove, Eszter Salamon and Christine De Schmedt, among others. Kathryn's choreography has been shown various venues throughout the US including the Joyce Soho and Judson Church, NYC.

Kathryn is the recipient of the Coca-Cola Critical Difference Grant for Women, the Alumni Grant for Graduate Research and Scholarship, a Movement Research grant, and studied as a scholarship student at OSU, Gallatin, and the Bates Dance Festival. She was also commissioned to make a new work for the Estrogenius Festival in NYC in 2010.
Her writing/research has been published in the Brooklyn Rail, an award-winning independent publication in NYC, and presented at numerous conferences throughout the US and Europe. In 2012/2013 she was a guest artist for Motion Bank, headed by William Forsythe.

Kathryn teaches dance, theory, and dance ethnography to students and professional dancers. She is also a certified Yoga and Pilates teacher.
